The Lamentation of a Restaurant Dishwasher (January 2025)
This piece was written and performed in one day at the UNT College of Music’s Merrill Elis Intermedia Performance Arts Theater. It was my audition for the graduate-level intermedia class. I wanted to showcase both of my art practices in one go. I quickly, yet thoughtfully, put together and rendered an animation of hands washing dishes while I wrote a contextual narrative that I spoke while the animation was playing. This was my performance. There is also a critique of my performance afterwards.
(Yes, I was a restaurant dishwasher at this time. This narrative is based on personal experience lol)
